On May 15, thirty-five students from De La Salle University School of Economics (DLSU-SOE) visited UPLB to observe classes and interact with the students and faculty of the Department of Economics (DE) and the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics (DAAE). This activity is part of EconSwap, a one-day campus exchange program initiated by DLSU-SOE in partnership with selected universities in Luzon.

EconSwap allowed the DLSU students to immerse themselves in the experiences of their UPLB counterparts and to form new friendships. Similarly, UPLB students learned from their peers about student life at DLSU during their sharing session at lunch.

After participating in selected classes in the morning and having lunch with DE and DAAE students, the DLSU-SOE students toured around campus and visited the Office of the Chancellor, the Makiling Botanical Gardens, the UPLB Technology Hub and One Stop Shop, and the International Rice Research Institute, among others, for a complete “Elbi” experience.

During the day, the faculty members of DE and DAAE held knowledge-sharing meetings with former DLSU-SOE Dean Dr. Marites M. Tiongco, Associate Dean Dr. Jason P. Alinsunurin, and Dr. Andrew Adrian Y. Pua, where similarities and differences in academic-related policies were discussed, along with potential opportunities for collaboration.

On June 3, selected DE and DAAE students and faculty members will visit DLSU-SOE for the second part of the EconSwap.
