The College of Economics and Management (CEM) and College of Economics and Management Alumni Foundation Inc. (CEMAFI) had successfully hosted the second lecture of CEM SEMINAR SERIES last April 6, 2018 at the ICOPED Auditorium, CEM, UPLB with the theme: “Philippine Power Sector: Structure, Actors, and Prospects for Sustainable Energy Part II”. The lecture was delivered by Engr. Salvador Antonio Castro Jr., president and CEO of CleanTech Global Renewables. He was also an alumnus of College of Engineering at the University of the Philippines Diliman. He tackled about the different types of Renewable Energy here in the Philippines and discussed its importance, benefits to the society and impacts on economic development.

The auditorium was filled by a total of seventy (70) participants which includes faculty, researchers and students from UPLB. The UPLB-CEMAFI aims to support the DOE’s long-term vision of Sustainable Energy for the country. It is also a means of increasing level of interest among our students and faculty to do research work on issues related to energy. UPLB-CEMAFI will continue to conduct lectures/seminars that would tackle various policy issues relevant to Philippine development initiatives in general and to the energy sector in particular. It is a big challenge to make Sustainable Energy sustainable here in the Philippines. TDJBullecer and LSCabanilla
