UPLB-DE and AboitizPower Conducts Power 101

The Department of Economics of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (DE-UPLB) in collaboration with AboitizPower(AP) conducted Power 101 last August 12-13, 2024 at the Institute of Cooperatives and Bio-Enterprise Development (ICOPED) auditorium, UPLB. This is a series of training sessions designed to provide power sector stakeholders with valuable knowledge and insights into economics.

A total of 32 participants from the Electric Power Industry Management Bureau of the Department of Energy (EPIMB-DOE) were present during the two-day event including its director Dir. Irma C. Exconde. Associate Professor Gideon P. Carnaje and Assistant Professors Veronica Castillo-Dida and Emmanuel Genesis Andal of DE facilitated the said training. 

By educating the stakeholders about the economics of the power sector, Power 101 envisions to raise the level of policy discourse and in turn, allow for a sustainable and efficient power sector structure for the country.
