The World Bank Group (WBG) partnered with the University of the Philippines Los Baños and the College of Economics and Management in convening a multistakeholder consultation meeting that was held at the SEARCA Residence Hotel Conference Room on 20 August 2024, at 9:00am – 12noon.
The WBG is preparing a new Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for the Philippines to cover the years 2025-2028. As part of the preparation of the CPF, the WBG is doing a series of stakeholder consultations across the country between July to September this year. The CPF “guides the WBG’s focus and priorities for engagement in the Philippines, including financing as well as analytical and advisory services”.
The consultation was graced by the presence of Vice Chancellor Rolando Bello who gave the opening remarks on behalf of Chancellor Camacho and by Vice Chancellor Nel Bantayan. Around 60 people from the Academe (mostly from CEM-UPLB), government, civil society, private sector, and the youth participated in the event. The consultation was led by the WBG Team: Dr. Dandan Chen (Manager for Operations), Dr. Gonzalo Varela (Lead Economist and Program Leader), Dr. Edgar Sanz (Senior Country Officer), and Dr. Clarissa David (Senior Country Officer).
